As can any network. Three customers on their famous “One Plan” were given around 60 days written notice when the plan was discontinued.0 -

wow, thank you so much for this information. i honestly had no idea mobile providers could, or even want to end plans with their customers. thank you, its good to know.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
I recently left Three after the last 7 years with them (total 12 years). Previously ported my numbers from One2One (remember them?) to O2 to Three to Vodafone then back to Three.
Have been generally happy with Three, I really liked their 'free' roaming. However all networks offers free European roaming, I wanted to find the best deal.
The Three 1 month rolling contract before I moved:
£8/mth 200mins, unlimited texts & 500mb data
Moved to iD 1 month rolling contract via MSE link:
£5/mth 250 mins, 500 texts & 2.25mb data with one month rollover
Alright, it's chump change, but £36/yr savings is pretty decent. Especially as I'm a low user with access to WiFi @ home and work, use about 20mins calls and no texts (that's what Whatsapp is for right?).
Leaving Three was painful, I had previously wanted to leave and never passed the half an hour persuasion and I was able to get a cheaper SIM only deal on a one month rolling contract. But 2018 is my year to get thrifty! I called to cancel before Xmas and had to ensure over half an hour of the guy interrupting me and telling me none of the other providers are better than Three. Lied to say that no other providers provide free calls to 0800 numbers or free Europe roaming. When I tried to correct him and said I'm moving to iD, so same same. He actually shouted 'You're wrong, maam, you're wrong! You should check your facts'. Anyway, MSE armed me with enough info to not be defeated this time. I eventually was put through to the disconnection team, she was delightful and after 10mins eventually gave me a PAC.
I was offered £7/mth unlimited minutes, unlimited texts & 4gb data to stay with Three. But I turned it down, as I'll never use that much.
PORTING was fairly quick and my old Three number was out of service for 2.5hrs (between Three switching off my service and it porting over to iD).
All good so far. iD mobile works just the same as Three for reception and data speed. Their South Africa call centre is... well... a call centre. Reading off a script from the computer. But they did expedite my number port request. I ordered the iD SIM on 9 Jan afternoon, called them 10 Jan to give them the Three PAC (realized the PAC expires on 11 Jan). 11 Jan my number was ported over at 3pm.0
