Morning all
No rain here at quite mild atm, I have a towels load in the wm but don't think there is much point hanging it out today as its quite grey.
DD and I finished the bits of shopping yesterday Aldi was ok not rammed with people so all food stuff got now and I wont be going to the shops again before xmas.
Lots to do today AOD I see your dust and raise you with builders dust, plaster dust and grout !! We shall be spending the morning cleaning as no amount to twinkly lights will cover this mess !
OH as got to out the new lights up in the kitchen, and screw all the sockets back on the wall, I have got to rub down the filler I put on the fireplace and re -paint it, also only half the tiles are grouted in the kitchen as we run out of grout :rotfl:
Oh and we still haven't got the decs up, this is most unlike me as I am normally organised but the kitchen revamp has thrown me completely !
Silver Oldie, what a nasty spiteful woman she is, I would send the text to your son as you said, is she a young woman ? seems to me she needs to grow up a bit !
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -

Haven't slept much after reading something DiL put on social media.
Everything bought, everything wrapped.
Hope you all have a good day
As I don’t subscribe to social media and have never owned or will ever own a mobile, I don’t know what your DiL has written but it would appear to have been something nasty. I really feel sorry that you have to put up with this Silver Oldie so I am sending virtual hugs.
Still not very Christmassy weather so I have no excuse not to do a very small final shop for stuff I forgot to put on DH’s large shop on Thursday. Mind you I might just persuade DH to nip out on the motorbike. I will then reward him with an apple & rhubarb crumble as he has nearly finished the coconut & cherry loaf I made the other day. For a man who doesn’t take sugar in his coffee he has an awfully sweet tooth!
The rest of the plan is to try and attempt to Kondo my wardrobe & CoD - please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Morning everyone,
Have been up since 6.30 but only just had time to sit down and post, it was still very dark when Lulu went out but luckily it's quite mild so she could get at her grass. I went past a Tescos on the way to the stables and people were queuing to get into the car park, that was just before 7am
My plans are to do some baking today, have some fruit steeping in tea for a loaf and my beloved has requested ginger cake so that's on the list too. We were supposed to be going over to DB's tonight but he texted yesterday to say that the lurgy has hit the house so he will pop in to us instead, hope he doesn't bring it with him!
Sorry that you have read something nasty SilverOldie that's certainly the worst part of social media.
Thoughts are with anyone struggling at the moment x
Have a good day folks x0 -
Good morning all,
I've been up since 6am and so has the HT. How come I have to wake him at 7 on school days? It's cupcake making day today (dairy free to take to my friend's house tomorrow).
tru I've tried holding most of the contents of that advent calendar both ways up just in case. Heaven help any sensitive small children trying to figure out the alien sculptures. Glad your choppers are fixed in time for Christmas dinner.
silver-oldie she's a b * * * h. I don't know what I'd do in your situation. As you want to see your grandson I'd probably ring and cancel the meal and tell them you'll just call round for half an hour.
I'm catching up on all the jobs I had left to do. It was great to see my sister at the weekend but it meant preparation for other things ground to a halt. My friend called round and fixed the curtain rail in my living room yesterday so I have the curtains back up. It makes the living room look much more comfortable and cosy.
Take care all of you0 -
Good Morning chums sadly Christmas brings out not only the best of human nature but also the worst at times. people fighting to get the last cheap turkey and yet some folk have so little.
Well our Frank is at home and his carers are coming three times a day during the day and one during the evening called the starlight nurse. His wife Margaret is coping as best she can bless her and is sleeping on the sofa next to his bed. Its their 62nd wedding anniversary on Boxing Day so we are all hoping his will make through.
This morning I am making youngest DDs her sausage rolls and tomorrow morning I will make the eldest one hers.No plans to go out anywhere today I shall leave the madness of the shops to those who enjoy it.Everything is bought that needs to be bought and I shall be off tomorrow afternoon on my yearly too-ing and fro-ing between my two DDs houses.
If I don't get a chance to get back online may I wish all of my friends both real and virtual a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year. May your troubles be few and your loved ones be many.
Have a great time and look after yourselves and I'm looking forward to 2018 as I will become a Great Granny in March to a little girl. (although my youngest grandson Mikey says I'm a 'great Granny' as it is ):) bless him. I hope the coming year will be good for many of us and peaceful for us all
Take care chums

Brighter here and colder today. DH went to Tesco at 8 ish to get the last fresh bits and it was heaving. so glad he offered to go on my behalf. Just a tidy round to do now and some washing to dry and that's it.
JackieO sending coping vibes to Margaret, xx And to all who need them this Christmas.
Hugs to poorlies and worried. Spoons all round.

Morning all, just.
Thanks for the thread Holly, thanks for the carol Tru, we heard that sung solo in church yesterday, lovely.
Hugs to all those in need especially silver oldie and anyone else lacking sleep.
I've only managed a couple of hours sleep in the last few days.
I cleared a small space for the Christmas tree and cards and CHS promptly filled it with the paperwork for the new engine! The tree is only the size of a coke can, so the cards are in the bin and the tree is back in the cupboard.
I used to love Christmas, I never had much money to spend but I loved the lights and the music. 17 years of living with the grinch has destroyed any interest in Christmas for me and to cap it all I have raging earache!
Enough of my whinging.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Silver Oldie, please remember that (I think) posts on Facebook can be deleted, so if you want to ask her about it maybe try and copy the quotes and the context in case she deletes them0

Tru a word to the wise - don't go too mad with crusty pizza, Granny Smith apples etc til you've gotten your new teefs properly "bedded in" iyswim. You don't want a bout of mouth ulcers from doing too much, too soon. Not trying to rain on your parade, just offer an umbrella in case of a passing shower, as I speak from experience.
Silver Oldie I was incensed enough to search the forum to find out what had upset my friend so; and my conclusion is the woman is a total female dog, and should be treated with the contempt she deserves.
I don't do Social (Unsocial?) Media myself; the only problem with that is I miss out on a lot of information - the amount of events that are only advertised with "for details see our Faceache page" etc; it does make me cross. I've wondered about joining under a pseudonym and keeping my own settings *completely* private (is that even do-able?) and not actually posting myself, but I've never plucked up the courage. And presumably I'd still have to join the relevant group to get hold of the information I need.....
As Judi would say, Bah!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
