Panic Stations - fridge not working two days before Christmas!

So I have literally just unpacked my huge Christmas shop, noticed the fridge was on a tad too high, went to turn it down only to accidentally turn it off (or, onto zero).
There is now no power, the reassuring humming has stopped and it appears to be dead. The light hasn't worked for a while so I cannot say if it is receiving power, but there are no other electric issues in the house.
I removed the plug for 30 minutes but this doesn't seem to have fixed it. I'm unsure whether I should be leaving it off at the mains for longer, or whether this even makes a difference.
Any tips or hints? It's an integrated fridge freezer and quite a few years old, but it was fine before I touched the temperature.
This really is the worst time for it to go! Any advice would be appreciated! You might even save Christmas...

Have you checked the fuse?
Does it need defrosting? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Plug it back in, turn the dial to where you want it, SHUT THE DOOR, then go to bed and see how it is in the morning.
(And yes, I'm being serious.)

It doesn't look as though it needs defrosting - no major ice build up. The fuse is fine too.
It's just a bit odd how it was working perfectly until I turned it to zero. It must have been on there for about a second but has completely died.0 -

Thank you for the suggestion - this was my plan, but it's going to be a very broken sleep! My Christmas depends on this working :rotfl:
I wasn't sure whether to leave it unplugged or evening or do as you suggested, so thank you0 -
what makes you think it is dead?
If you can't tell if the power is there as there is no light, what makes you think there is no power?
Fridges don't 'hum' all the time. If you were turning it down this should result in silence.0 -

Fridges and freezers often take their time to start working again after a power loss or defrost. Really do try not to panic and just leave it switched on. Fingers crossed by the time you get up tomorrow morning, it will be back doing its 'thing''I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

You can probably get a small fridge from Curry's tomorrow. It won't be cheap (and you might need a big car) be it might just save Christmas... If not ask neighbours if the can take a few things each?0

Leaving it unplugged is NOT going to help. Do as someone said above - turn the thermostat back to where it was and leave it on. The compressor should kick back in after a while.
what make and model is it - usually found on a silver sticker inside the fridge compartment door or wall.0 -

You can normally hear something coming from the fridge, but it is completely silent. As I said, I don't know whether there is power to it, I just know that it doesn't seem to be working at the moment. I turned the temperature back up when I noticed I'd gone too low but by then it had clicked off and wouldn't click back on.Fridges and freezers often take their time to start working again after a power loss or defrost. Thank you so much - you are just lovely! I am an absolutely wreck, trying not to imagine £200 of wasted food and a take away on Christmas day, but I guess there's nothing I can do either way. I'll just cross my fingers and hope for a Christmas miracle!
So just to check - I'm definitely better off leaving it all plugged in?0
