and Mar, `budget` is the operative word in more ways than one. To budget is what many of us do. Old fashioned words, like within budget, means the difference between debit and credit0

I'm having a forced no spend day, my house is bogging with everyone's prized carp ending up in the living space, not surprisingly everyone was up and off to work/ college early this morning rather than deal with me being on one :rotfl:0

I've ordered 2 nice barstools and am living off my cash stash this week, not taking my housekeeping out of the bank. Here are the stools :

they are smashing mar and such good value as well as stylish0

Look nicely padded compared to most bar stools, nothing worse then seizing up with a numb bottom, but that could be just me0

Sauntered down to Lidls and was pleasantly surprised with my haul.
Not sure on the savings but I did get a lot for my money.
The range was good especially the meat section, it will take a while getting used to the products that they sell but this is to save money in the long run.
Onwards and upwards.
You do need to be careful and not buy named brands in Lidl, they aren't cheaper and are often dearer
I also keep an eye on the fruit and veg. Other then the supersix, it can be cheaper in Tesco0 -
Thanks for that tip suki.
Will bear in mind when I go again
I'll probably goggle the prices while in the shop
An example
Looked now.
Got this which I thought was a good price but it's the same in Tesco’s on offer, so I will have to be careful not to get overpriced goods“You’re only here for a short visit.

Jar £440.31/£667.95 and Bank £389.67/£667.950 -
I keep a virtual float in my m/s money, ie £50 less than actual. Its another safety thing, so I never accidentally go over what is in my bank current account0

It is a pain tboo when that happens.im always getting caught out as I do a monthly branded shop in the big town but on the other hand I what I would save in money is offset by the cost in fuel to go more often.
I'm feeling better about my house today, well don't have the urge to burn it down any more :rotfl:
Another no spend day as its my long shift at work, there will be quite a few of these over the next couple of months as I realised I'm only 3k from the next LTV bracket with the mortgage as hopefully we can get that together before the final finance is sorted for the new house and we are fixed in.
I want to move to part time hours by 55 I love my job but hate my split days off and working every weekend for half the year. I'm going to make this happen0 -
tori, yes go for it, life is much too short, it really is and before we can blink, we are old
I bought a new shower head, arrived yesterday and I set it up. Lovely shower, triton about £19 from amazon. I am also expecting some black gloss touch up pain via ebay, my bike has a chip and a stitch in time. I need to use some sort of alcohol to pre-wipe, like nail varnish remover. Haven`t got any of that so am thinking the free sample of spectacles cleaner, from when I bought new specs, last year0
