We have a noisy neighbour - who lives the other side of an 8" wall from us !
He is constantly doing home "improvements"
Always has the workmen in - drilling, grinding and hammering
He spent the whole of last year - "renovating" his livimg room - before deeming us worthy of telling us - that he had tried to catch us in - to apologise for the noise !
It has now started AGAIN - Drilling and hammering (from before 9am to after 6pm)
There must be some law to prevent this - especially with Christmas coming up ??

Yes i agree he is definitely renovating his house on purpose. I've never heard of anyone accidentally renovating a house ;)
  • You should try living with a noisy neighbour for 3+ years... It's worst than hell!
  • 9am-6pm? seems very reasonable on behalf of your neighbour

We have new neighbours and they are living elsewhere whilst workmen live in the house to completely renovate it. They usually start at about 7.45 and it's now 7.25pm and they are still going.

So far at least one wall has been removed, walls have been stripped of decades old paper, carpets have been pulled up and 2 batrhrooms have been ripped out. It's only been 2 and a bit weeks so far and I'm already ready tired of drilling and hammering.

There aren't many laws that will change because it's Christmas.

It sounds like your neighbour is just doing work and doing it at reasonable times of the day. What would you like to happen here?
