Accomdation in Edinburgh

Options
Hi All,

I'm looking for somewhere reasonable to stay in Edinburgh for a long weekend (February or March 2018) for two people that includes breakfast.

I have searched and most places I find are either very expensive or poor quality.

Can anyone make any recommendations?

Are you trying to book over a 6 Nations weekend?

If not how much are you willing to pay per night per room?

Wouldn't stress the having breakfast included as there's many places you can have breakfast that will be far better or cheaper than a hotel

No it's just for a break away and not Six Nations related, hence why I can be a bit flexible over a long weekend.

Cheapest I have got so far for four nights is £440 but it was a bit over my budget.

That price seems about right for a city centre. Average B & B not in the centre is £50 per night per person. I've checked the SYHA web site. They have a three bedded en suite room for four nights end of Feb, for £109 per night. If you were the same sex you could have a bed in a dorm which would be cheaper. Cooked breakfast is £6.50.

My one requirement is it has to be an hotel, even IBIS is quite expensive.

I don't think you'll find a hotell cheaper than IBIS.
  • Premierinn prices coming in at under £300 for four nights in Feb.

If you were willing to use the PI Hub on Rose Street that is £175 for four nights.

Plus cashback if you go via quidco or similar.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I would probably stay at the Airport Travelodge (£153 for 4 nights) or Dreghorn Travelodge (£155 for 4 nights).

For something more central - TL Waterloos Place is £212 for 4 nights.

I've stayed in Edinburgh a lot, and I've found Travelodges/Premier Inns to offer a reasonable compromise between cost, location and quality. (Although there are several that I wouldn't stay at again, and one where I ended up getting a full refund).

I think the question meant, are you looking at a weekend when there is a 6 nations match on in edinburgh? the prices of hotels go through the roof on these weekends.
