I used to charge rent for a paper bag that I didn't actually own in the middle of a road, and also get the tenant who lived there, to lick the road clean every day, for which the local authority paid me a fee for getting the road cleaned.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0

In North America it is common for female students to work in the sex industry, using the term losely, to earn money. One student I taught in Canada worked as a lap dancer. You guys are showing your age
Long Live Python
It's not Python, even though most people think it is. It preceded them, and was originally performed by a group which included Cleese and Chapman who would become Pythons. It also included a Goodie. However Python did perform it in live shows. I claim the tedious pedant prize for today.0 -
AFAIK as I know many electric toasters with four slots in it will allow you to toast either two slices of bread or four slices of bread so you do not need to waste energy if you just want to toast two of them.
Right. But not the one my mate had, or I would have said "I knew a guy who used to make toast twice a day". Which would be a pretty lame story.0 -

On holiday in Toronto in 1988, I had badly underestimated the cash I needed to take with me, and had no credit card, so I REALLY needed to save money on accommodation: I stayed for a week in a hotel that had a sex show on in the basement and where the noise of cockroaches scuttling over the window sill kept me awake the first night! Then I stayed for a week in a workers hostel where you could only stay for a whole week and had to pay up-front for the whole week. I then stayed for a couple of days in a room above a top-less bar - the room was part way through being built/remodelled, and was to be a bedroom that could be rented by the hour!!!
On the last day of my holiday, which was incredible by the way, I had just enough money to either eat or to go to Niagara Falls by train - I decided to eat, on the basis I was sure I would be able to see Niagara Falls in the future! The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
It was "At Last The 1948 Show" with Marty Feldman and Tim Brooke-Taylor, (with Cleese and Chapman) and if you watch the various versions the original has by far the best comedy timing, especially compared to the later Python stage shows. I claim the tedious pedantry award and must try to get out more.0
