Hi everyone
Sorry if this is in the wrong area.
A month or so ago I got a letter from Robinson way saying I owed money for an account with a bank I did not recognise.
I sent a prove it letter as I have absolutely no knowledge of thwhat this account is even in relation to.
Today I’ve received a letter saying they are content they’ve investigated and yes it belongs to me. There’s no proof included other than a bit that shows my name and address and an account number (which was what they originally sent) it’s not on bank headed paper or anything like that. Is simply typed as part of their response letter.
Is it me or should there not be a bit more concrete proof?
Otherwise we could all say oh yes I’ve checked my records and you owe me money.
What’s my next steps? Financial Ombudsman or back to them?
And what proof should I ask for?
Thanks in advance ☺️

Ask them to provide you with a copy of the agreement.0

I have also just read the letter and the address they have provided (my current address) I did not live at when this account was supposedly opened.0

Have you checked to see if it appears on your credit files?0

Yes the debt appears on my credit file. It was not showing previous to being contacted by Robinson way. There was nothing on the file showing that I did not know what it was.0 -
When they finally admit the debts not yours.Take these crettins to the small claims court & sue them for harrassment.
You could also go to the police sighting threatning behaviour.0 -
