Fan assisted built in oven burning food

Everything was fine with our oven but recently we noted that it was starting to burn food, even if you turn the temp down and have it on for less time it would still really burn the food whereas before this began it certainly wouldn't.
Bit of googling suggests that the thermostat needs changing & is also a real nuisance to get to and change.
So on that note, who do you get out to do these things? Your central heating springs a leak you get a plumber, but who do you get to sort the thermostat of an oven?
Assuming it even is that that's the problem.

You buy another oven.
Unfortunately this is often the cheapest way.0 -

To be honest i couldn't even tell you the brand of this oven. I see no stamps.
And to install it .... electrician? I'm aware it sounds a stupid question but i'll ask it anyway :rotfl:0 -
Domestic appliance repair man to repair it.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Yes, Electrician to wire a new one. although the last two I've bought just plugged in to a standard socket. Sadly, it's often the case that labour + parts won't be far off cost of a new one0

you can often tell if the stat is working there is usually a light or click when you turn the knob.
Better would be a oven thermometer to check actual temps
a meat thermometer may have the range, my remote BBQ one does so I have calibrated our oven with that.0 -
If you see no branding on the oven its probably a budget unbranded oven and its probably not worth repairing.
Buy a decent branded product. You may need an electrician to wire it but check the available power supply first before you order anything. A decent oven these days usually needs a 16A supply. In the past these used to work on 13A sockets. Budget ones still work on 13A supplies. We’ve had to remove your signature. There is a step down conversion chart between conventional and fan ovens which can catch first time users out.

Hope this helps some one0 -
we have a local euronics retailer who sells things like ovens fridges and cleaners and also does repairs. they fixed my built in fridge and built in microwave at different times. they know how to remove the kit from its cabinet to fix it. I did not buy from them originally and both were out if warranty.
Look up local shop to you.0 -

That just tells you that Fan = Non Fan-20 across all temperatures.
I'd be amazed if anyone who used an oven regularly didn't know that.0 -
I recently searched for an single electric oven for my daughter and found many are stated as needing a 13mp plug but often the lead and plug is not supplied . For instance a INDESIT Aria IFW 6340 at £177, vand fitting and disposal of the old one by these retsilers costs about £100. Most of these ovens have a standard height and width but the dept can vary a lot from 50cm to 58cm. So you need to see what is at back of the existing oven in the way of connections to a possible gas hob before buying a new one.0
