You do have to provide your own transport, however many companies will refund this. I did a couple of these years ago, the money was good and the staff experienced and polite. I would have no problems doing another one.0 -
I'm up for giving blood for £100, I will just think of the no food for 24 hours as a new diet.
9 hours of the 24 I will be asleep, leaving just 15 hours.:mad:Life isn't all work, work work.
:eek:There is the traveling two and from work:eek:0 -
I take part in things for life science and psychology post grad students at the other university in town. Last time I got paid £20 to donate 12 small vials of my own blood, it was for a research project into psoriasis (sp?). Only took 30 mins then I had £20 extra for the week
Unfortunatly I can't take part in medical trails for pharmarceutical companies because they usually want post menapausal or sterile females and I am none of those.0 -
i have just completed a pre op breathing trial (non paid) at my local hospital - i am amazed that so many of my friends thought i was doing this for financial gain. there was no risk and all i had to do was breathing exercises twice daily and have lung function tests. i did this because it gave me the oppertunity to improve my lung capasity before surgery and there are no risks involved in breathing. i did improve my lung function and this in turn helped my post op recovery.
this was a no risk trial and therefore carried no risk (i was having an op trial or no trial) however the paid drug trials carry an element of risk and the more the risk the higher the payment. while £600 would be useful i dont think i would be inclined to do this sort of trial to get the money.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -

has anyone heard of a company called BioTrax. Im going to register with them i think. just wondered if anyone had any feedback?
P.S. should this thread be moved to the 'up your income' board? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
i agree with drinkupretty that most trials require females to be sterile or post menapausal. but there are ones that dont out thereWhat matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
