Can anyone advise about where you can search/signup for trials?
Thanks0 -
These sound great, £100 for blood, but not eating for 24hrs, that would hurt
and with the other trials, i dont know how much i'd want to risk having a dumbledore hand!

There is also another one just outside Edinburgh called:
Inveresk Clinical Research
Heriot-Watt Research Park
Riccarton
Currie
EH14 4AP (Road Map)
Midlothian
Tel: 0131 451 5080
Fax: 0131 4515075

I have done a few trials for them and made a few quid in the process. You may have to be on their books for a while before you are chosen to participate but once you have done one you get them more and more frequently.!!!!!! happens!!!:D0 -
I'm amazed they still get people to do these trials after this:

Are these lot still doing trials. I haven't had anything from them now for at least 2 years. Used to do loads of patch tests in Musselburgh for them. Maybe I should give them a call and check they haven't lost my details.0 -
wow, discobaby what are you signed up for?
I got an email asking me to sign up for a test for something to do with cystic fybrosis offering £2,430 but, as with everything they'[ve sent me, it sounds a bit scary to me!
While I love the idea of helping find treatments for serious ilnesses (and, of course, the money), I can't help but be put off by the risks (though they say they are small- that story from a few years back is still fresh in my head!)
Has anyone else done a trial? Are they as scary as they sound?0 -
Although there are risks with this it is still something I would be up for, after all there are risks with crossing the road but that doesn't stop us.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx

I don't cross the road unless I have to, I assume that's the same for most people :rotfl:
Thankfully, I don't have to be injected with drugs and studied....0 -

Yes there are risks but there have been many trials taking place over many years and how often do you hear of something going wrong?? I can say that Richmond Pharmacology use 2 hospitals and Northwick is not one of them!!
Even though they still made us aware at the screening of the above trial (where 6 were left very ill) they are very open and you can opt out at any point even if you are in the middle of a trial!!
Its definately personal choice the medicine I will be trialling is a childrens medicine (can't give info as it may be illegal) but I can say it is already in use so I am ok with that!0 -

I haven't done a trial but 1/3rd of the people at the screening had and they were there again, I asked lots of questions lol the staff are lovely too! The woman who screened me had been there for 7yrs they answer any questions you have!
I have been sent the same trial but as I will be doing a different one starting next week you need a time lapse between trials, also there is alot more involved in the £2430 trial and I cannot juggle that with my current lifestyle!
Over time you will get offered more, like I said I have been signed up for 2yrs and this is my first one because I can fit it with work etc.:)
It is not going to be for everyone I know!!0
