Hi,
I've taken part in trials before and would have no hesitation doing so again.
Apart from the regular medical monitoring, you are basically just relaxing. I spent my time reading, listening to music, watching TV, catching up on a bit of work even! And you're paid pretty well for your inconvenience.
Everyone always quotes the one trial where their heads "swelled up like pumpkins". Of course this made the news because it was exceptional, nobody ever quotes the thousands of trials carried out every year with no safety issues at all!
By the same rationale, if you see a major plane crash in the news would you decide never to fly again? Probably not, as you know how uncommon accidents like that are. In short, you weigh the risk. We do this in everyday life all the time.....
Then each study that comes along, you'll be sent the full briefing information if you're eligible and meet the criteria. There's certainly no obligation to choose the first study that comes your way or any other one (chuck the briefing away if you're not interested).
If you have any other questions about trials, feel free to ask.
THIS IS THE MOST SENSE ANYONE HAS MADE SO FAR ON THIS SITE!!
I’ve successfully completed eight clinical trials to date. They’re great for earning fast money very easily and allow you to catch up on work or rest....They allow you to bring laptops, consoles and usually have reasonably quick internet connections, allow you to use your mobile phones and have visitors etc. They range from 3, 8, 16 to 30 or so day trials, each paying over £100 per day.
THERE IS NO RISK IN DOING MEDICAL TRIALS,....10,000 trails are successfully being conducted right now, in the UK as we speak!! Yet, the narrow minded of us continuously refer to the extremely exceptional , case of the ‘elephant man’ which happened all those years back!!....More people die from traffic, alcohol, tobacco or even air-travel related deaths than have ever suffered ill effects from trials, yet we happily carry on crossing roads or driving, going abroad or drinking/smoking (some ‘hypocritical’ multitaskers seemingly do all simultaneously). I have done trials for the same company that it happened in, and if anything, this is the safest place to do a trial now as they work under far tighter safety procedures than they are ethically and legally obliged to, plus the facilities are brilliant!!
At the end of the day!! THERES NO MORE RISK IN DOING MEDICAL TRIALS THAN CROSSING THE ROAD OR DRIVING, YET YOU DRIVE EVERYDAY AND PAY FOR THE PRIVALIDGE .
I'm currently on a 33 day trial (3 lots of 11 days with 5 day breaks between) for a prostate drug and have had absolutely no problems!! – they dose me on the first day and only take my blood every 48 hours. I’m helping develop new drugs but better still, im getting paid £4000!!, Where else can you get handed that amount of money having done absolutely nothing...
Getting in to trials is fairly easy, but you may have to wait as there is such a demand for places.
So become a full triad sloth!!

Have fun with it...its a great way to meet like minded people and get fast cash whilst earning some rest.
Hear from ya soon!!:cool:0 -
I have a list of medical trial centres in the whole of the UK. I think it is the complete list, probably around 120 clinics where you can do drug trials and also give blood. Drug trials upto £4500 and giving blood around £120.
All areas covered in UK.
If anyone wants me to post the list up I will in a new thread!
I also have lots of experience in clinical trials and probably know more than most so if anyone has any questions then let me know, I really know the inside and outside of things!

Hi Tony,
That sounds great, I'd definitely be interested in either a thread or a post with companies you know of or have experience with.

Hey Lawrence
Sounds good - cheers. If you go to the left in this post, see my name? click my name, options will appear - and then select 'Send private message to this user'.
I'm looking for as many trials as I can get, so if they are running the same trial again in a few months or whatever, that's great as well.
Thanks again.0
