Anyone clued up on A-Z with Amazon?

Long story short.
Bought an item which is faulty from Amazon Marketplaced. Courier collected and seller has said "item isn't faulty therefore I am not refunding". From purchase to return receipt is less than 10 days.
Should I A-Z or chargeback or is there anything else?

Yes, just go back to Amazon. The seller is an idiot. They've accepted a return, in theory they can come after you for two lots of postage, they won't.chancesare wrote: »Long story short.

I'm assuming you have the tracking details that the seller has had the item back? If you don't and seller disputes that, mention that the seller has confirmed that they have received it in message.
Just go via Amazon customer services and you'll probably get a refund through quickly. The CS is well manned right now, you can access it quick on a mobile app.
I can't foresee any problems from Amazon's end. If you do get any come back on here..0 -
Have a read of this first: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=2018897300

This line covers it "The seller agreed to issue a refund or replace the item and you have not been refunded, the refund was in the wrong amount or the replacement was not sent."Have a read of this first: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201889730.0 -

I think that would cover it but surely only if the seller agreed to refund. From the OP it looks like the seller is not saying he will refund. Does the opening and acceptance of a returns case cover it? I don't have many dealings with Amazon's A-Z thankfully.0 -
Amazon won't care what the seller says, unless it's a personalised item. The seller asked for it back, at that point they agreed to refund when they received it. Amazon will just refund, they don't mess around. If I was the seller I wouldn't risk an AtoZ claim no matter what I believed, I'd just refund.theonlywayisup wrote: »I think that would cover it but surely only if the seller agreed to refund. If I was advising the seller on here with a legitimate case I'd say that their only recourse was to pursue the buyer directly, ultimately through the courts if necessary. If it was under £30 or so I'd suggest they forget about it and move on..0 -
In my experience Amazon are weighted much more to the buyer than Ebay. Ebay occasionally listen to the seller, Amazon rarely do..0

Thanks RFW, that certainly makes their wording a bit less ambiguous. We sell a fair amount on Amazon but I think I've only had 1 A-Z and it's not something I am knowledgable on at all. This seller certainly sounds like an idiot.0 -
In the OP there is no mention of the seller asking for it to be sent back or agreeing to a return which a lot of the replies seem to be assuming. Perhaps the OP will be back to confirm ...0

Not in isolation it doesn't! Points 1 and 2 of the A-Z regs need to be taken into account (4 is obviously OK, given the timescale OP has outlined). Sounds as if OP has met all 4 of the A-Z conditions, but useful to check.0 -
It won't make a difference to Amazon. As far as they'll be concerned the seller has accepted a return. In the OP there is no mention of the seller asking for it to be sent back or agreeing to a return which a lot of the replies seem to be assuming. Perhaps the OP will be back to confirm ....0
