Hi Smartdriver
Just wanted to check with you how you went about get the actual advertising stickers for your car? Did you supply them or did the companies supply their own?
Thanks0 -
.
hello emma
My client tells me what they want on the ad (usually providing a letter heading) then I contact my local vehicle sign man, he makes up a 'proof' of the ad on paper which I send to my client. When that's approved the sign man visits me and places the ad on the car.
I usually take a photograph of the car then, and send it to the client.
Easy peasy :rotfl:

Hi Smartdriver
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I hope you don't mind me picking your brains but this is something I'm really interested in doing.
Would you mind advising me of the approximate costs involved and roughly how much you charge?
Thanks

You can set your own fee, and the number of 'spots' available on your car. Currently, I have 10 'spots', but they're not all taken. The charges vary, clients pay more for the larger spaces (driver's door/passenger door, for example). Fees ranges from £200/400 per annum and usually include the cost of the set up & attachment of the decals.
Here's a look at my lovely, fabulously fun to drive, Sally Smart: :j

Well I was looking at this idea and then I realised that I could make money for myself - I have a Mazda Bongo and decided that I am going to sell advertising space
I currently have one online shop and one normal shop that are going to advertise on my car - As I drive round Dorset quite a lot building websites etc and having to go and talk to people I might as well advertise businesses at the same time :money:

Its worth checking with your insurance company that sign writing doesn't invalidate your insurance. Tescos won't insure sign written vans, un written vans are fine. It maybe the same with cars.0

Has anyone here tried www.comm-motion.com ?0

.......... having read their Terms & Conditions of registration, pollypickle, I'm not sure I'd want to be one of their 'owners'
5 years is one heck of a long contract term to agree to.... with no guarantee that you will be given any 'work' during that period (and presumably they don't pay a 'retainer' during any period when there is no 'work') - AND you have to agree to present the car at an unspecified destination at the time and date of their choosing ..... it could be MILES away... and VERY inconvenient.
It was at this point that I gave up on the whole idea.... I think I'll stick to d-i-m (doing it myself) ... :rotfl:0 -
Well the ads on your car got me to register with Ebid (I credited you for my sign up). I think that you're right on the mark doing it yourself. Respect to you for your initiative...0
