Thanks for the update and congratulations on reaching a good compromise with them.

I was about to suggest going back to them with evidence of the alternative quotes. They wouldn't have been obliged to match them, but the fact that you still owed them half the balance would have been a powerful incentive to compromise... which is what they did.
