Composite door quote

I am guessing your comment is totally tongue in cheek, and you too are well aware of Masonite and the business ethos at DoorStop.
I am left almost speechless by the brazen USA attitude behind this we do not give a ---- attitude, but that is the way things are today. As we can all see it is "Masonite do not ..." followed by "Masonote do not ..." which is also reflected in the attitude of DoorStop composite doors. Here the sad reality is Masonite/Doorstop do not have a Technical Department, Masonite/DoorStop do not have any technical staff, Masonioite/Doorstop do not have any regional staff, Masonite/DoorStop do not have any interest in customer support ... which is all following the same script format as the modern slavery page.
All round one struggles to find anything positive to say about DoorStop composite doors which is why for most consumers these doors are best avoided.

Note, the door is made of steel, not composite It is also very expensive compared to many composite doors, but that doesn't stop it being excellent value for money.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
I was pleased to read that you are happy with your Hormann door. I have someone coming tomorrow to quote for one but their standard width sizes are too big. I assume I will need custom made...hope it doesn't become out of my price range!
After researching for a while I definitely want one0 -
Im a bit lost regarding the door store comments on here? Have just woken after a long 12 hour night shift last night, so not quite with it yet...0

I spent a long time last year researching doors, mainly composite.
Long and short is that a decent composite door with frame fully fitted (normal width not with extra panels) is £1000 give or take.
I ended up with a solid oak door at about £6500 -

If you’re referring to Door Store Essex, that’s who fitted out Door Stop Door. How did you find them? We have had endless hassle with our front door, some down to them, some down to Door Stop. To be fair most of our issues got rectified eventually though our final replacement was never fitted as well as the first one (the replacement was fitted by somebody else).0 -

Yes Doorstop have no fitting crews that I am aware of. However when one looks at the new home builders they tie up supply and fit contracts because of issues with quality and call backs. Which also means these builders have the savvy and clout to weed out some of the dross. Local authority organisations that I am aware of that did use DoorStop have ditched them because of quality issues. It is the poor consumer, who wants to do "home improvements" who then gets this dross. It has to go somewhere!
But in fairness to DoorStop, they produce dirt cheap, poor quality doors and get away with this because the vast majority of consumers could not care less. There is no need, or incentive, for DoorStop, or their competitors, to change their business model here.
Bit like the story Of British Leyland cars here - anyone remember them?0 -

Parents had a Morris Marina and Austin Maxi. I remember them both being steaming piles of manure.
I just read the Maxi was the first car to introduce a 5 speed transmission. They shouldn't have bothered - I remember changing gears in it, having to use 2 hands as it was so stiff. The fact we have no car industry to speak of British owned and manufactured is a shame on the government, car companies and car workers of this country in the 70s and 80s.
I remember the look on my Dad's face when he took delivery of his first French car - it was unbelievable luxury compared to that Maxi.0 -
