All ships leak, and this one is under trials at the the moment, for exactly this reason - to find faults that need to be put right by the builders. A complete non-story.

On a ship with a displacement of over 70,000 tons 200 l per hour ISNT that big a leak. Sure it needs fixing but its not that big a deal. Its a total non-story.

Aye it's an absolute non story, and one of the things you sort of expect to find the first time a ship goes out to sea and uses various bits in rough water for first time.

200 litres an hour is less than the amount of water many cheap fish pond and water feature pumps will shift (I used to have a 300 litre an hour pump on a bird bath, the pump cost about £20 and ran for years).

Doesn't stop the moronic media from !!!!!!!! on anything the UK does at the slightest excuse these days. Seems to be more than a few people in the country who clearly dont want to be here. If they just !!!!ed off i dont think there would be any issue with immigration.

Issue found while doing test of new ship for issues. Issue found to be a leak equivalent to leaving a single tap running. Every hour, the weight of the ship increases by 0.00029%.

Clearly I wouldn't do well as a headline writer...

with 1600 crew berths, lets assume its full, each person uses the head 3 times per day, and each flush is 3L, which is 14,400L per day, so the toilet usage on the ship is 3 times as much as the leak...

the planes the ship is designed for weigh 8900kg empty, so a single plane talking off is the same weight shift as 2 full days of this "MASSIVE" leak!

    Such a non story!

5 times the capacity needed to pump out the leak - just in case the leak gets worse.

I wonder if they'll have enough budget left to buy it?
