Why not try advertising for free on www.service-exchange.co.uk?
It's a new site, but really easy to create an ad which will hopefully reach lots of people.0 -
I am interested in making some extra cash and thought I would like to do people's ironing from home. How can I get started as don't want to upset local companies. I am in the Leighton Buzzard area in Bedfordshire0

does anyone have dealings with funding / grants for samll start up businesses, coming to the end of my student loan, and going to have to sign on soon. OH did say something along the line of grants available after 6 months on the dole, but really don't want to do that.
Also has anyone tried this without a car, I have never passed my test, im thinking this may be a hinderance, unless I can rope OH mum into it too, or find someone who drives, anyone in the Oldham area fancy doing this? The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0 -
I am a rarity; I love to iron and was talking to a lady who owned a fancy dress/costume buisness and chair covers (for wedding etc) and she was desperate for someone to iron so I jumped in.
I go round her house iron the covers for 35p each, but I can do 20-25 in an hour so well worth it. I get to catch up on my TV watching lol. She used to be in the police so I am sure she is very 'trusting' too. Being a teacher I have the holidays and some venings free to do this and I love it.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Miss No Money Pennies :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I take in ironing plus provide a very professional home cleaning and pet walking service in Aylesbury. If you advertise in the right places and provide an honest, reliable service you will do well. But you must be RELIABLE.!!
Advertise in shop's and golf clubs plus gyms. Anywhere busy professional people go for R&R.0 -
I have an ironing website that I no longer need and I am not sure what to do with it! I was going to go into business with my Sister in Law!
If anyone wants to buy an ironing website drop me a PM and I will send you over the url to have a look at.
You will need to be able to change the content though and it has been done in Dreamweaver though I can do this for you for a nominal fee.
I can also host it for you if you need it hosting.0 -
Hi all,
I'm looking to start an ironing service but a little stuck on the finer details, hopefully someone maybe able to point me in the right direction.
I live on the main road into the city (Lincoln), not sure how drop off on way to work, collect on way home would work - will people remember and be prepared to do this?
If i was to arrange delivery / collection, would i need to arrange special insurance to use my car?
Prices - i was thinking of trying to keep this as simple as possible so people know exactly what they are paying up front. £15 for a large basket - approx 25 items, £5 per bedding set (any size), Do you think these prices are appropiate/ reasonable.
Thanks in advance
