Oh my goodness, I just checked my email and there the test was! Well, time to get stuck in!0
-
yep, i've got it as well, going to fill it in tonight. Just had a quick look through it now and it all looks fine to me.0

Oh dear, they want character references from a tutor and lecturer (i'm a student) but it will take alot longer than the 48 hrs to here from them given that we only have to go in for exams now.
As silly as it may seem, I can't remember the name of my last boss AND we didn't really get on. What do I do now!! HEEEEEEELP!0 -
Mukaki - cant you email your tutors? that's what I did.0
-
Yes, I emailed my lecturers and, thankfully, they replied today, phew!0

Took me the whole 2 hours to get my answers to fit and couldn't answer the last one at all so not v. confident. Sent it back Tues night and waiting to hear, but I think the longer it takes for them to reply the less likely a positive outcome. Becoming obsessed with checking my e-mails now!0

Out of my misery -failed. Says can't reapply for 6 months and if fail twice won't consider again but from another thread know people have re-applied straight away - have they changed the rules or should I have a go?
At least on file with textperts but seems you have to wait months.0 -
Hi Helwarren,
I'm sorry that you didn't get in.
I sent the initial email yesterday and haven't been sent anything yet other than the standard reply. I read through the whole 42 pages of the other AQA thread and was really excited, but it seems they've changed the rules now and there's less chance of getting in than there used to be.
Now absolutely convinced that whatever happens, I won't get in!

I am extremely fed up with AQA and I thought it would be a good idea to let people know here. A word of warning...
When they "review" your answers, they are incredibly subjective. My contract with AQA has been terminated because of my "poor" answers. These were the "worst" one.
Q. How many different noises does a guinea pig make?
A. A guinea pig makes between 15 and 18 different sounds, depending on your definition of a "different sound".
This was marked down because AQA said I shouldn't give a range - I should pick a number out of thin air and stick to it, even if it's not quite correct.
Q. How much is scrap copper worth per tonne?
A. Scrap copper is worth £3,062 per tonne [...]
My research led me to results of anywhere between £2,000 and £4,000 per tonne. So this time, I did what I was told and plucked any number between them. This was marked down because I hadn't given a range...
Q. How is the song X by band X played on the guitar?
A. Song X by band X is played in dropped-D tuning in 4/4 time. There are too many notes to fit into one text, but you can find the music at: Site X.
This was marked down because I "should have included the notes". I pointed out that, as a lead guitar piece, writing the notes would run into thousand of messages and we have a limit of one. So it was stated that I should have written the chord progression - but I said that it didn't have chords in it, it was a lead guitar piece. I was still marked down for it.
Q. What's the name of Germany's national anthem?
A. Germany's national anthem is called "Lied der Deutschen" but it is more commonly referred to as "Deutschland Ueber Alles".
This was marked down because it should be "uber" not "ueber". However, you are not allowed to put accents (like umlauts) when you use AQA. Anyone who knows German will agree with me here that if you cannot put an umlaut (it's supposed to be über) then you must follow that vowel with an 'e'. Marked down again...
And so it goes on. Because of these "poor" answers, I will never be allowed to work for AQA again!
I did write an e-mail of grievance, but the reply came back that the lady fully agreed with her colleague. Quel surprise. What angers me most is that AQA encourage giving slightly false answers when I was very keen to tell the absolute truth.
So be warned - if you they don't want you, they will do anything possible to get rid of you!0 -

Indie, so sorry to hear about this. How long have you been working for AQA? Was this the 1st review you had failed?QUIDCO £2827 paid out since October 2007:D0
