    Depends if tthe OP is looking at the canal network or the Thames (or both).

    CRT does not manage the Thames.

    Like the one in "Bullitt"? How many times did they pass that green VW?

    Advancing years has meant my picking up these things in films has diminished. Or I never watch that closely!

    Don't even start me...

    Lady In The Van, Film Stars Don't Die In Liverpool. Both seem to have just hired half a dozen cars which they move up and down the street...
    Van - over the course of years.
    Film Stars - both Liverpool and London featured the exact same cars.

    The amount of money spent on so many other aspects of film production, yet they skimp so badly on something that's really quite obvious.

    Hey you guys! (or girls..). You do realise these films are fictional yeeah? Nothing's real. It's all some guy's (ibid) imagination?

    The drivers are actors, the cars are brought in to add excitement. So just as they use the same actors throughout the film, why not use the same cars.......?
