Where to find a boathouse to rent?

I decided to live on a boat in London for a few months or a year. However, I was unable to find considerable options for renting. There are random cases in housing websites such as zoopla. Even in gumtree in which you can find anything, there are only 7 boats to rent in London (some should be gone by now).

I wonder if there is a specific website or approach for renting a boat, probably because of a targeted audience.

I'd start by looking next to rivers and canals.

In less than 5 minutes I've found three on rightmove.

There are very few boathouses (buildings on the land under which a boat can be stored.

There are many houseboats - to rent or to buy. Some of those houseboats will have moorings in London, some will not.

Some of those moorings will be

*temporary (eg 24 hour, 2 day, 1 week
* leasure (ie long term, but not for residential use
* residential ( ie you can keep your boat there AND live on it)

If they did, they would at least pronounce it He re ford instead of Here Ford and would hopefully have the stones to stand up to De Niro when he got it wrong when completing that otherwise-good take in that movie you're thinking of.
