Acceptable broadband dropout rate?

I switched to vodafone ~2 months ago and have had frequent broadband drop outs since, averaging 3-4 times a day.

After talking to their support (nightmare to get through the handholding support stage) a techy realised that the line was unstable due to trying to achieve higher speeds (something sync related).

Now it does it twice a week. It's unnoticeable when web browsing, or streaming, but does affect online games
ing and remote access for work.

They said they could reduce the speed more to get it more stable, but twice a week is acceptable and "the norm".

Is this correct? or should I try to get them to stabilise it more?

I would say that no drops is acceptable. More than that on a regular occurrence and you need something fixed.

Yes, other than occasional maintenance or an actual technical fault (at their end) then it should be up 100%.

Think 2-4 times per week would be pretty good at the expense of slightly better speeds.
ADSL2+ had router stats measuring by the thousand a week 73db attn more so when it rained.
