@OP - you do realise that one shot is of the front of the car, the other of the rear.
I can’t tell whether the rear shot is of the back end of the particular model shown from the front. Can you confirm that it’s not?

So then, photos are correct (front and back of car) I'm an idiot...but in my defence this is the first time I've experienced this situation!

You need to be arguing the case for Grace Periods (note - plural). Providing this wasn’t a pay and display, or a VRM input into a store-sited keypad, you need to argue that ‘x’ minutes were spent in finding a parking spot (Christmas is a busy time) and reading signage, then ‘y’ minutes to leave a congested car park onto a busy main road, where ‘x’+’y’ = 11 minutes.11 mins over, will argue the case for grace period i think and reading the newbie section as we speak
