PCN - parking in my own space
Comments
-
It's all a little confusing as who's the owner but it's a guy who is the landlord I believe who has a company that deals with the running of the apartments. He is the one that implemented the parking company. I will double check the lease details. In regards to parking in the lease, all it says it residents are given allocated bays. There is no mention of permits etc. You think it's worth sending this 2nd letter off to CPM appeals ?0
-
Property management company it says on the lease. So yes it's a property management company but a certain individual is running it0 -
Oh and sorry mate iPhone typo, was rushing haha I meant compliant not contempt.0
-
Nothing in the lease whatsoever about the management company introducing schemes for the benefit of the owner.0

This is invariably a scam and the MA often takes a cut. They rely on people being intimidated and paying up, fight them an they are likely to back down. If it gets to court, they are usually the losers. Goggle "own space parking fines", and "prankster own space".
Do you have a Residents' Association? If so was this put to them? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
You say you own the property and space, yet you refer to a landlord.
please clarify. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
I am the property owner and the bay is allocated to my apartment so surely this means this parking space belongs to me? Thus making the space my own no? This is my point to CPM.0
-
Yes our residents association is run by 2 elected chairmen and they are currently in the process of taking the property management company to court for failing to provide a service i.e. Cleaning services etc. The car park issue is also on the agenda and we have tried to get it stopped by writing to them but have had no reply on both occasions. This is obviously my own personal issue with CPM so nothing the residents association can do at the moment because they/ we are not in charge of the management as of yet. This could take ages so I need to get this parking issue sorted before. Do I send CPM another letter ?0
-
If the space is allocated, it is most unlikely you own any actual land.
I disagree that you problem with the PPC is private, scammers such as this are a concern to all residents, especially when their activities impinge on residents' leasehold rights to "peaceful enjoyment" of your property. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Oh I totally agree but when I say "private " I just mean it literally as I'm currently the one having to dea with this ridiculous charge. I know a few guys on here have said ignore it, which I will do eventually but do you think I should send this last letter to CPM? Or is it even worth it ?0
