    The only 'benefit' I can think of with Win M.E vs 98 is the desktop icons are a bit nicer. There's little else to really recommend it (stepping aside any "ancient OS" issues here) , as you lose 'real DOS' mode too compared to 98.

    It's still lurking in there as ME was still built on the MS-DOS kernel, but MS made it quite a bit harder to get to.

    I don't understand why anyone would want to us ME specifically, if a DOS kernel version of Windows is needed then I'd go to 98SE.

    Oh I do agree, I think I really should of said something along the lines of they made it more work (harder) to get to a 'real dos' command line I guess. :)
