You cannot enter into a contract with a minor. Quite why you thought the situation of a 13 year old having a Paypal account he legally can't have and buying stuff with his mums credit card was OK I cannot for the life of me work out. There is no chance in any way, shape or form I would have viewed this as OK and I don't think any rational thinking person would either. The very first thing that entered my head when reading it was using his parents credit card without their knowledge.

You were blinded by greed, you've lost £600, an expensive lesson but one which could have been a whole lot worse. You now owe Paypal £600 and you should concentrate on ways to repay that. You cannot claim against the 13 year old, their mother is likely to say their child was fraudulently using their card which I expect is actually the case despite what emails you may or may not have from this kid.

Sounds like the OP is under 18 if involving his dad...and doesn't sound like they are UK based.

If they are based else where in the world,maybe the local laws will be different.

i just wanted to see what people thought, s a bit of a vouch for paypal also so i know what is coming from united kingdom
