Hello everyone, recently i have bought around £600 worth of in game stuff on a gamemode for a friend, after his account got maxed out with his limits he asked me to do it for him, after him sending the money in chunks and i buy the stuff for him i find out that he sends as a gift, no problem with that,
i know that he can only charge back with that through credit cards, today i come to my email being spammed and my paypal being in minus of £600 and i am well aware after research of what this means, he is 13 years old and today i found out its his paypal but his mums credit card. i sort of already knew this but had no problem with it due to thats up to his mum/what they decide to do if hes not aloud. anyway,
i rang paypal today and after a very helpful mn helped me and provided me with links that i can post proof of puchase and proof of giving the person the stuff in game, which i did. i provided all of the logs of me buying the stuff, trading it with him, and him requesting the stuff on an app called discord. I have warned him that this is a case of fraud and me and my dad are well aware of after i win/lose the case what will happen. we will of course fight it as we aare treating it as a case of fraud after a willingful payment.
i just wanted to see peoples views, i know all about the debt being sold and within 80 days i think i can pull together the money if i really need too but i just wanted to see what people thought, s a bit of a vouch for paypal also so i know what is coming
from united kingdom and he disputed all of the money as an unauthorised payment, ps: on the logs he provided a message saying : nah he bought the for me, just thought that would help? anyway thank you!

If you want people to read that then I would suggest paragraphs.0

Makes no sense whatsoever. Who paid for what and how ? Whose credit card was used ? Who has disputed the payments ?0
-
sorry if it wasnt very well explained, he payed me around 600 pounds in lots of different payments, through his paypal which is connected to his mums credit card0

From what I can understand, you bought £600 of stuff, and someone paid you £600 for it.
Sounds like every thing has worked out ok.0 -
no, someone sent me around £600 in paypal gift, i bought !!!! for them, give them it, they chargeback0

If you knew the 13 year old was using his mothers credit card (without her permission) then you now are minus £600.
End of story - get hold of the little darling and get the stuff back is your only option IMO.0 -

The 'stuff' doesn't exist, as far as I can make out. It will consist of extra weapons, or power-ups in games. Virtual stuff.
Unfortunately it seems to have cost the OP real money.0 -
Let me get this right. Your 13 year old friend used someone elses credit card through your account to buy stuff for him. Looks like your 'mate' has stitched you up, sorry to say. He didn't want to have problems with his PayPal account and knew he had STOLEN his mothers credit card so used you as a mule.
In the end, you aided and abeded fraud through your paypal account using a stolen credit card. The credit card owner requested a refund through her credit card company because she hadn't spent the £600. You do not have a case, sorry to say. You might make more progress getting some kind of refund speaking to the mother but equally she could report you to the police for using her stolen credit card.Anything I say in no way constitutes financial advice and anything you do is your own decision.0 -
Hmm, grooming?0

OP - how old are you?
You do realise that the minimum age to hold a Paypal account is 18 don't you? Therefore your friend cannot officially have his own account.
Also, he is too young to enter into any kind of contract with you so it looks like you've probably lost your £600.
Also, if you are also under 18, then you run the risk of Paypal closing your account if you push this too hard.0
