Plus the OP will need to keep their fingers crossed they haven't been snapped on the roads untaxed by the DVLA network of ANPR cameras or they could face double trouble.
If he lives on the Isle of Wight, he has no worries on that score because there aren't any!PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Only about 3 or 4 times a year. But there are no fixed ANPR cameras despite what they want you to believe.
Apparently since the abolishment of the tax disc, the amount of untaxed vehicles on the Island has risen dramatically.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Yes I know. But as I said, they very rarely visit the Island. I have a mate in the local Old Bill who has confirmed this.
In the old days of the tax disc, the tax dodgers were easier to spot but now they just 'blend in' with us law abiding motorists. Boils my p155 tbh.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

The old bill will have anpr in their cars, at least they will do when they send a traffic car over on the ferry.0 -

We don't even have a dedicated traffic unit on the Island anymore hence we have a plague of those wannabe yoof 'bikers' with their modified exhausts so that there so called 'bikes' are as loud as possible. But that's a different story.
But anyway, the police will tell you that "road tax" isn't their thing. They will only 'report' offenders to the DVLA if they stop them.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

That's why I said they send one over on the ferry.
Road tax has never really been a police thing anyway. Some forces only ever made a report to the dvla while other could issue a fixed penalty notice.0
