In January I overstayed in the Waitrose car park in Cobham by 2 hours. I didn't see any signs and I wouldn't have thought that a company like Waitrose would have any relationship with one of these private parking firms. First I knew I received a notice, redirected via leasing company. Because of the time taken in this process, including 10 days by Britannia, I had no opportunity to pay the lower amount of £40 and the notice specified a charge of £70. To be honest if the charge was £40 I would have just paid it but I thought it unreasonable I hadn't been given the opportunity to pay the lower amount.
So I appealed, sending the Newbie letter and Britannia cancelled the notice immediately. Once they see the letter I guess they think it's not worth the effort of proceeding.

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving.

You also are politely asked to read up on this in the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

If you do need more advice not given in the FAQ then you need to start a new thread of your own and not hijack someone else's like this.

Delete your post above to remove the giving out the driver details

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use your posts against you

Unfortunately POPLA appeal was unsuccessful.
I guess now is debtor collector time ... Any idea if Britannia does go to court?

No, they are as tame as my pet cat. And she's a docile ball of fur.

Nothing to worry about. People can happily ignore Britannia, come back if they change the habit of a lifetime within 6 years and keep them appraised of any address change, just in case. Won't happen though.

You are now straight to 'ignore the debt collectors' stage as per post #4 of the NEWBIES thread, which after all is what we all did here before POPLA became an option to try.

No big deal.

Please copy the decision BUT ADDING PARAGRAPHS PLEASE (as POPLA rationals (sic) are a horrible wall of text!) into 'POPLA DECISIONS' with a link here, saying it's Britannia so people can see your thread.
