Admiral obtaining incorrect data from comparison sites / using this to back charge

Admiral back charging me using continuous authority credit card against incorrect data they have taken from a quote comparison site!
I discovered this week that Admiral have taken £288 from my credit card, claiming that I failed to disclose 4 endorsements on my car insurance application. They claimed I had 2 endorsements in August and December 2012, and so did my husband. This is not correct.
They then used this to work out what I should have paid for these premiums over a period of several years and charged my credit card, without my authorisation.
I believe my husband did have one endorsement, but cannot check this as the DVLA site only shows current endorsements. Surely Admiral have broken the law here??? Anyone experienced the same - interested to know your experience and how i should tackle this:
1. to get the money back that they have taken without my consent and
2. to ensure Admiral or any other insurer cannot use data from unofficial sources to charge me without my authority

Have you asked Admiral where they got the information from as you say DVLA do not have it?0

Sounds like they are claiming you or your husband were using a comparison site and entering details of these 'endorsements' - can you recall doing this? What endorsement do you think your husband did have?0

How can your husband "forget" an endorsement??
If you took out the poicy then you will have confirmed you told the truth about yourself and anyone else covered by the policy
You could have been treated far more harshly had they chosen to take the view you did this deliberately to get a cheaper policy
Alternatively if you believe false info was passed by the comparison site then formal complaint is tge way forward0
