Had a lovely night with my book club friends last night actually managed a lot of dancing if a little more reserved than it would normally be lol probably a good thing all round
So I have had some beautiful flowers chocolates and balloon from my lovely bloke mate and loads of lovely presents from my great friends there is for me just one missing from my brother but thats the way it is sadly I wont be wasting money on cards for him from now on.
Plans today include lunch with my friend who stayed over and a serious amount of cake if possible

I got into my local Aldi at ten past eight this morning, all I wanted was a dozen eggs and there were already people with trolleys piled so high it was just stupid.Morning all,
Shopping to do today. Apparently the food shops are heaving. For goodness sake its only one day! Bahh humbug I cant wait for the New Year.
So many of us with difficulties at Christmas....I remind myself that Christmas is just another day.
When I got to M&S at just after 8.30 it was already heaving. The food hall was crowded, if I had of gone in there for food I wouldn't have bothered.
I don't understand how people can eat the amounts of food that they are buying unless it lasts until June!
I so agree with your sentiment that it is 'just another day'.
I've now got to the point where I am looking forward to January 3rd and 4th when the schools go back around here and we can all get back to normal!0 -

I am so pleased your grandson is coming over although sorry for the reason.
Cranky
They used the word ""heal" :j:j:j:j:j That is fantastic and like getting the best present ever!
My middle dd phoned this morning as she was out shopping and arranged to pop over for a cup of tea and a chat. It was lovely to see her as I put family off coming over here for the past week so I did not pass on the cold. The family are coming over tomorrow so I am cooking beef and mushrooms now to make a pie and prepared four chicken breasts for cooking. I have green veg and potatoes to roast
and want to run down the freezer so have meatballs defrosting which I might cook and add to the beef and mushrooms before topping with pastry.
Tickled that the pink and white sugar mice have arrived ready to put in the Christmas stockings. DDs are all grown up but still like to have a stocking with a few sweets and small beauty gift in them. I have also done one for son in law and dd's boyfriends.

Afternoon - made it home all in one piece! It was a very slow drive but all the snow on the trees and mountains made it a beautiful one.
I managed to park outside the big PO and got two parcels sent off and bought the plastic packing envelopes for the others. I remembered, just in time, that I had to add another little thing to the wee packets.
Nelski - happy birthday! Hope you had fizz and fun.
Csarina - sorry you are so sad about Nicholas, I don't think the grief ever leaves. There will be a time when you can remember him with pleasure.
The bird feeders have been filled up, my stuff unpacked and a hot cup of tea drunk. Off to make more!0 -
Been MIA for a couple of days; just too tired to put a coherent post together.
Anyways, Hoppy Birdday Nelski.
Ronnie the JRT has arrived for his Xmas/New Year holiday; his folks are off for a special holiday (they both have a "big" birthday this year, so are pushing the boat out) so I have the pleasure of the wee furball for the next 20 days. :T He's currently seeing how much of the sofa he can manage to occupy.:D
Mr LW is going through the tv pages marking up what he wants recorded this week. I just hope to goodness there's a) not too much of it and b) not the sort of dross he's been asking me to record of late.
I'm getting to the stage where I feel like sabotaging the tv, the $ky box, or both. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Nelski I nearly missed your birthday. Hope you had a great day and enjoy your evening.
Food shopping was a nightmare. People fighting amongst themselves for Christmas 'tat' that had been reduced. Sorry but they would have had to have paid me to take it away and it would have still ended up in the bin before i came home.
