Don't 'ask for their advice'!! OMG no...

You must complain, more like this, see post #26 where I posted the sort of thing to say to a clueless Hotel:

Just to repeat, because Scotland are sleepwalking into disaster for Motorists and you all need to lobby your MPs to vote AGAINST this stupid idea:
Murdo is making a huge mistake by proposing that the keeper is liable

  • Thanks all. Have complained to the Hotel today. Was asked to put it in writing, and the "fine" will be cancelled, but this will take 1 - 2 months!
and I should ignore any further letters from Parking Eye in the meantime.
I did make the point that as Parking Eye are operating on Hotel property, and are presumably a contractor, it should not take 1 - 2 months for a cancellation of an incorrect parking charge levied by that contractor......
Will let you know the response I receive.
    Thanks all!

I would include in your written complaint to the Hotel Manager, in the first paragraph, that you acknowledge the Hotel's instruction to 'ignore any further letters from Parking Eye in the meantime' and point out that ParkingEye are so aggressively litigious that if you are sued and if you ignored those 'letters' as advised, you'd get a CCJ.

So, as well as the substantive complaint about this harassment, you also take issue with the Hotel 'advising' victims of ParkingEye to 'ignore everything'. Such awful advice will get customers CCJs and the hotel will be liable for the loss/damage to credit rating in two ways - vicarious liability for the conduct of their notorious 'agent' they've let loose to maraud against the Hotel's customers, and direct liability for advising poor victims to ignore 'all letters' including court papers.

This needs to be an assertive rant.
