Hello.
I’m wondering if anyone can help me. I’ve got a Parking charge notice from Britannia parking “FINAL REMINDER” through the post today. This is the first letter I’ve recieced. So I’m pretty confused.
I know of the day this incident occurred.
The person who had my car was lost. They pulled into a safe place to get/sort out directions from my sat nav/ phone. Battery died. So had to wait to charge the phone. Engine was running and They never left the car.
I really don’t know what to do. They want £160!!! I can’t afford that.
It’s terrible. Can some one please advise me on what to do please?
I’m in a right panic. They write of ‘court proceedings and debt recovery agents”
I’ve never been in trouble like this before.
PLEASE HELP.

First things first, YOU ARE NOT IN TROUBLE, these are pond life
    scamming parking cowboys.

Question, they are asking for £160 ??
Are you sure this is Britannia or a stupid debt collector ??

    Hi guys.
Thanks so much for trying to help me.
But I’ll be honest. Can’t make head or tail of exactly what I’m supposed to do here. So many threads.. getting further more confused.

    Sorry. My error. It states:
“FINAL REMINDER - discounted period has now expired.
If this notice is ignored. It will be passed to a debt recovery agent which may escalate to court proceedings to recover the amount owed. The overdue parking charge notice will increase to £160 in the first instance if further action.”
As I said. This is the first letter I’ve received.
Can they really do this? I mean...
The letter has Britannia Parking on it.
It has the payment info. But no other info. Other than the details of my vehicle and date.
    Arghhhhh!!! Anxiety levels increasing....

So you can ignore the letter as it's a debt collecting attempt

Ignore debt collectors letters when they start

If you get a lbcca or court correspondence then don't ignore those!

Come back at that time for advice on dealing with them

(And edit your posts to remove details of who was driving! Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving, as the ppcs monitor here and can use your posts against you)

Wow you are in a state over nothing. It's not 'terrible', it's only Britannia for Gawd's sake!

As I said in this thread on pepipoo, where I post as SchoolRunMum:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=113956

I am disappointed when I go to Waitys and fail to collect a love-letter from Britannia on my windscreen. Have had a few, so has my husband and our daughter and niece, and so have friends & colleagues. How we laughed when they wrote their daft letters, this is something and nothing.
I really don’t know what to do.

That's why the NEWBIES thread is at the top of the forum, to stop panic like this, to stop too many threads posted where there's no need. All of this is already covered in the sticky thread, as half the posts here every day are...

Don't ask. Let's not have that pointless debate again. We all know parked is parked!

Why do people think a car isn't parked (somehow, magically it's different) if someone is sitting in it? Who on earth ever said that, in such a way that people actually think it's a thing?

Thanks so much for all your help... everyone.
Please don’t make me feel like some kind of dumbo...
I seek your advice as most of you have experience of my situation.
And I’m extremely grateful for it... and all the assurances given.
Yes, this has scared me. It may seem trivial to most. But as I’ve said, I’ve never been in trouble before. And when I read “courts & bayliffs” with £160.. I’m like... Wharrrttttt!!!

    Moving forward.
So I appeal this with them. Saying I’m the registered keeper but wasn’t driving that day. And I’m not at liberty to disclose the driver.
    Is that correct??
    They will reject my appeal.
I get a code from them.
    And appeal with them.....

I would much rather have this sorted out, than to ignore these letters...
Peace of mind. Hope you all understand my point.
Thank you again for all your

You need to read the Newbies FAQ thread. You are too late to appeal

    Saying I’m the registered driver
No. Registered KEEPER. There is no such thing as a registered 'driver'.

Read the NEWBIES thread, it will be fine, you won't pay a penny. I don't think you are too late to appeal, this is just a reminder:
The letter has Britannia Parking on it.

So now appeal it as keeper. Now, tonight, online. The template is in the NEWBIES thread.
