  • The latest scam is Martin Lewis sharing a link to Immediate Chain which has apparently landed him in hot water with HMRC!! I did searches and Immediate Chain IS a scam, a Ponzi scheme if you like. Here's one seach result, check out malawaretips. com and search for Immediate Chain.

This article linking him to this company was in the Daily Mail  - I don't read the rag as a rule but was looking at their football articles after we won the PL on Sunday!

Why has it landed him in hot water with HMRC?
He's been very clear that he doesn't endorse these products.
He was even on This Morning last week saying so.

It wasn't the Daily Mail. They mock up a photo to make it look like like it's a national newspaper (Mail, Express ect).
    Come on you Irons
  • A fake ad using ‘Money Saving Expert’ and ‘Martin Lewis’ appeared today (august 2025). It was an advert inside a merge 3 type mobile game that trades ad watches for in-game currencies and i thought i would share so others know what the scam looks like.

This ad used Ai to deep fake a video of Mr Lewis promoting an obscure investment ploy and “earn thousands a month” via a Sky news interview and then provides a clickable link to a fake BBC news article. He doesn't go into detail like the real Martin Lewis would, the ai version begs that you trust him.

Ngl, this ai visually looked like a real person when it first loaded but he didn't blink the entire ad and sounded like a robot being held at scart-point when the advert started , it was so clearly fake when it got going but it did have me confused for that spilt second when it hadn't started playing yet.

The Ad agency used was called Digital turbine and the advertiser domain was called “riskenty.icu” and DSP name ‘ignite Media EU’ (screenshot below if the forum lets me post it)
I tried to get the ad to come up again in game but instead I got a legitimate ad for pampers nappies so digital turbine seems like a legitimate agency that works with real companies, that and its one of the few ad agencies i’ve noticed makes the “report this ad” button easily accessible which gives credibility to them or maybe showcases dedication to realism for the scam, who can really say I guess.

I Hope this information helps anyone who reads it in looking out for ai scams in the future.

  • While playing some ad-supported games on my Android device, I noticed several appearing that included Martin Lewis's AI generated/animated image. As the ads were created in a way that made it difficult to ascertain their origin, I followed through on signing up (no payments - throwaway email address) to find this out. I also took some screenshots.

I typically report ads in apps that are scammy and often get them taken down. In this case, it does not seem like the app developer - MobilityWare - did anything (but I could be wrong).

After collecting as much data as I could about the ads - screenshots, URLs, phone numbers, etc. I wondered what would be the best way to take them out of action. I get the impression that Martin Lewis and his admins would not want to be sent the details of fake ad seen by the millions of people who follow Martin's work.

However, I just wondered if any members of this forum had any ideas as to what is the best thing to do when seeing these ads to bring maximum consequences to the fake advertisers or platforms other than reporting them to the platforms to regulate/self-regulate?
