Hiscox - though their excellent service is reflected in the price
  • Nearly all insurer reviews are terrible. LV aren't too bad.

Chubb is another premium house insurer, you generally get what you pay for. Look at the T+C for example for Hiscox, very little in terms of exclusion criteria compared to Admiral

Home insurance up for renewal on Saturday, Admiral wanted 20% more than last year. Told them the best price available via a popular comparison site and lo and behold now paying less than last year. A pleasure to speak to.

I've been with Admiral for years, and I get worried jim's experience every year. Their renewal quote is always crap, I get competitive quotes, I call them up and they match, so they're always the most competitive for me. Apart from that being a bit tedious, I have no complaints about their customer service. However, I've never needed to claim, so no experience on that front :) (Slight lie - I had to claim for windscreen replacement once - that was easy. But windscreens are different from normal claims.)
  • I have also been with them for years. They have always beaten quotes from others when the policy comes up for renewal (though you have to ring) and helped sort out a claim without any hassle.
  • With house insurance its not the renewal process though that you want to judge an insurer on, it's will they actually pay up if you have a loss and handle the claim without a lot of bother.
  • Hi . Reviews put me off too! went on money supermarket and found a better deal with more than . They seem to give you more quotes than compare the market . I saved nearly £550 on home insurance for better cover . Chears .
