I've noted the popup from Kaspersky with the £4.99 offer.

However, with Barclays version you got two licences, useful if you had two devices or to give to someone else. I didn't notice whether this offer was for one or multiple licences, but I'd suspect it'll be for just the one.

Lol I guess if they've been spying on all my forum posts for the last couple of years I might as well hand over my bank details too.

I'm happy that I will be able to renew even if it is no longer completely free. My licence expires soon and now I don't need to spend time researching alternatives over Christmas - or worry whether going without is as safe as people say. Thank you Kaspersky (even if you are mainly doing this to annoy Barclays or GCHQ or whoever).

Steve - it didn't mention anything beyond the basics on the screen message, but if I remember you when I come to renew I will check the small print and let you know. :)
  • Kaspersky said the £4.99 offer would be £40.00 cheaper than normal price. Full price on the 3 devices licence is £44.99, so I'm hoping it will be 3.

Are Barclays going to offer an alternative free product?

I figure that if the Russians make the viruses they can fix them. I am pretty sure the US are equally likely to be sniffing around using their software. I usually buy activation keys on ebay but always download the binary installers from the Kaspersky site. Otherwise the North Koreans would get their stuff installed too! If too many people are spying on me and launching botnet attacks it might slow my computer down.
