I’ve always used 4 slice toasters and have always found the two inner slots do toast the bread more than the outer ones as there is more heat coming from the next slot over. If I just need to do two slices they come out fine because only two slots are depressed and heating up so it’s a more even toasting.

On that basis I would advise a 2 slot toaster.

It works well for us because I like my toast done a bit more than OH does so I have the inner pieces and he has the outer ones.

That was what i thought but it is not the case. I even try a slice in slot 1&2 leave 3 empty and a slice in 4. Out of the 3 slices the one at the far end in slot 4 comes out nearly burned.

I think we are starting to digress a bit as we sit together with toast and marmalade breakfast lol. Do you think this person has the right to ask for a replacement and how would that person go about it.

The toaster was bought in Argos https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4239970
