Travel Hacking , viable in the Uk?

The practice seems common in the US were folks effectively make use of credit card "sign up " bonus to accrue travel point to convert into air miles hotel and car hire and in extreme case manage to travel for free or significantly reduced cost. There does not appear to be the same amount of such sign up offer for uk based credit cards.
Has anyone done this and if so is it worth the hassle?

I've been doing this for over 10 years
However you may have missed the boat as quite a few Miles collecting credit cards are now closed due to the change in their fee structure.0
