We are a few months down the line selling/buying and everything is done now minus some information from one of the buyers which has been sent to their solicitor.
Its been well over a week of estate agent, buyer and our solicitor chasing and they are not answering phone calls or responding to emails.
Me and my wife are pretty lost now so close to completion and we cannot seemingly do anything else to get some kind of contact with this solicitor (It is a huge solicitor in the marketplace).
Am I allowed to go in person to them or ring to try and get something done or is this frowned upon?

Their solicitor won't talk to you, you are not their client.
Only your solicitor and the buyers should be chasing. Other than that, its patience.0 -

That's what I feared. Others in the chain are close to pulling out so got to hope something happens over the next couple of days.0 -
No reason why you can't visit the sellers EA office and ask your questions. Or, drive round to the vendor and ask your questions?0

The solicitor won't talk to you, but there's no rule against you trying to talk to them. It's not for you to know that they have an obligation not to talk to you. So call them and spook them into acting!0

I may give that a try as its terrible waiting and getting nothing day after day. Id hate to lose the house we came on the market for over something like this.0 -
More likely just to irritate them - in any event, they're not going to tell the OP any more than they're not telling the OP's solicitor. The solicitor won't talk to you, but there's no rule against you trying to talk to them. You have no way of knowing how close to completion you are, as it sounds like you haven't exchanged yet.
Apologies the chain was given a date beginning of December for exchange and completion which we were all working too in the chain. Since them the buyers solicitor has disappeared.0 -
almost certainly the problem is with the buyer not their solicitor
The solicitors only follow instructions.
If the buyer wanted to exchange / complete quickly they could easily put pressure on their solicitor
You're best chance or progressing is to get the estate agent to chase the buyer to find out what the problem is.0 -

I have had in the back of my mind that there is potentially something the estate agent and buyer know that hasn't been passed around the chain.0
