Thank you all very very much for looking at this for me !!
I’m going to make time today at work to sort out my defence , is their a certain way I have to write it up and also do I send it to Preston crown where I’m having the hearing or the Northampton one where I believe these all come from ?
I’m not expecting any miracles when I go , but I believe due to my circumstances at the time I have to try.
It will not be heard at Preston Crown Court, that is for criminal cases. Nor do you send it to Northampton, that is just an admin centre, and the case file is now at Preston County Court, which is where the hearing will be.
You are now engaged in a legal process. You need to quickly get up to speed on the correct terminology.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. Bargepole , apologies Preston crown court it is .
I don’t want to come off as being ignorant to the fact of what’s going on around me , I’ve just never been in this situation or any court related things.0 -
To repeat bargepole - he said that the Crown Court is for criminal cases. Surely yours has to be the County Court?Bargepole , apologies Preston crown court it is .
At the very basic level, you need to be sure exactly where you are going to turn up at next week. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

COUNTY court. Parking isn't a criminal offence (yet)

Seriously, though, it's an important distinction. Often the county and crown courts are in separate buildings, so you want to make sure you post documents and go to the correct one !0 -
I know , I’m not having the greatest time with it all and turning up to the wrong court would’ve been a nightmare.0

They are both located at:

But letters must be clearly marked as being for the County Court, and the OP should make sure he goes to the right part of the building next week, to avoid winning this year's award for Most Clueless Poster of 2017.

Thanks very much , I’m glad I obviously came to the right place here!
Can this be something that is typed up ? Sorry again for the stupid questions.0 -

How else is the Judge supposed to read it unless it's a typed document?
It MUST be in a typed document, headed with the case number, the names of the parties, a heading which says 'DEFENCE', and consisting of a series of numbered paragraphs, set in Times Roman 12 point with 1.5 line spacing, and verified by a Statement of Truth.
Have a browse of other threads on this forum to see examples. And just get on with it, you haven't got time to fanny about.
