Parking Dead end Street

Hi, we live at the top of a dead end street, our house faces the road, and the the houses at the other side of the road is their back gardens etc... we have a dropped kerb and drive directly at the end of the road, and on the other side of our fence drive is the house from the opposite side of the road has a dropped kerb and drive.... they also have a road at the front of their house on the other side.... we parked one car on our drive and the other car directly in front of our drive in line with our house.... my neighbour on the other side of the street adjacent to us refuses to park his car on his drive and parks parallel alongside my partners car, resulting in not leaving my partner very much space to open her door much (blue badge holder, bad back, needs door fully opened to get out) he is also parking out the back of the next house door, partly blocking their back gate.... he has now dumped a mattress and divan alongside my opposite neighbours wall resulting in him parking even further over leaving about a foot or so between the cars.... what can we do......p. . there is an unwritten rule that nobody from that side of the street parks out the back of their houses due to our street requiring access up and down, I have asked him not to park there, as well as the previous owner of our house, but he continues to.... what should we do?
Thanks....
Thanks....

Complain to the Council about this behaviour, sounds like fly tipping.
And ask them about whether the BB Holder can have a disabled bay painted on street nearby.
As an alternative, can she reverse park instead so her driver's door is always adjacent to your drive and can't be blocked?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Chances of a disabled bay is nil as OP has a drive.
E.G. BristolTo qualify for an advisory bay, you must:
have a Blue Badge
live at the address where you’re asking for a bay
frequently use the vehicle
struggle to park near your home
not have off-street parking such as a drive or garage0 -
Hi, Thanks for the reply. yeah its definately fly tipping as the bed has been there for about 6 weeks or so, and causing some mould to grow onour other neighbours wall...
ive thought about having a disabled bay painted on the road but it cant be outside his driveway, which is where he parks his car....
unfortunately we have a fence that is right up to the road otherwise we would reverse park.... we have thought about moving the fence back to allow us to reverse park, but we would lose a fair chunk of our garden.
Thanks for the suggestions of help.

For a start, report him for fly tipping and also talk to the LA about the problems you are having. I assume that your street is a public road?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

If it's a public road then he has as much right to park there as anybody else.
What happens if his vehicle is already parked when partner arrives back?
Unwritten rules are only rules if everybody agrees to implement them. What you have is a neighbour who does not agree with your cosy little status quo set up and is making life difficult for you to prove the point.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the reply's :-)
if his car is already parked their, my partner struggles to get out, in a very small space, she parks as close to the fence as she can.... including hitting the fence last month and scrapping the side wing, which had to be replaced, due to the damage sustained... we do have parking sensors as well......
The unwritten rule, is because if anybody from the front row of houses park in the back street on their side, they totally block our access, out of the street...
Coincidentally, i have noticed that there is no Kerb alongside where he parks, (just the back wall of their next house down's kitchen, its a terraced type house from the 1900's) does this contravene any uk highway rules?
Thanks Again.0 -

i wish you could post photos on this site so you could get a clear scene of what i am talking about.... was just thinking as i read somewhere that you coudnt park more than 50cm away from a kerb, and as the kerb is only on our side of the road, that would mean he is parking 6ft away from the kerb and facing the wrong way down the street.... Thanks again for any info and reply..... :-)0
