well its certainly clever. Just hope an LED doesn't fail O/C and the whole thing goes off!
  • Thanks all for the advice. From what I can see I should be looking for 10W B22 dimable Filament bulbs, just got to find some now.

Don't go on watt, go on lumens for purchase. Lumens of old bulbs can be looked up online. (I know you probably are and we never remember lumens!).

I would recomend either Amazon (from amazon, not a other party, do amazon basics do any?) Or Asda, their own are amde by a good brand.

You can even get one's that easily outshine an old 150W bulb. I think they are 14/15/16W and like I say forget the lumens. Have 2 in the loft, one each way and it works great.

Don't forget about colour temperature as well, very important if different colours are going to upset you!

In my view depends on where you have the bulbs. For example in my ceiling fittings I only need light downwards so the plastic bit which houses the heatsinks which stops light in its direction is not serious. However in my bedside lamp I have a filament bulb because I need the light in all directions.

Perfect colour match. (can't even tell the difference)
Brighter than the equivalent wattage they are being sold under

Good points. At first we had 'warm white' (2700k) everywhere, They make good bedroom & lounge lights, but replacing the bathroom light with a 'bright white' (4000k) lamp was a big improvement without being too clinical. Had to go to Ebay for that one though.

I'm waiting until we re-decorate (because the fittings will change) but the Kitchen could do with whiter light too.

Also, They aren't dimmable, and only come in warm white, but Tesco Filament lamps are quite good, and come in both E27 and B22 fittings

Im changing to LED myself. Got some LEDs the other day, that claim to be the equivalent of incandescent 60W. They were closer to 100W.

Get a few, try them out.
  • I switched to LED bulbs back in 2013 and no replacements have been needed to date (as expected). I ended up using Auraglow bulbs.

Yes that's correct you need to go off the lumens. You can even get LED bulbs for flashlights now such as Maglite, check out this 220 lumen bulb here
As the company founder you should budget for advertising. Spamming a forum makes you look cheap.

How does this relate in any way to a question about domestic LED bulbs???
