Hi,
So last year I had an accident where it was third partys fault which was admitted in march this year. I had my renewal quote come through as 0 years from insurer and after phone call they said that because i got my excess back due to third party takimg blame, i got my 2 years no claims back. The quote was cheaper elsewhere so i decided to move on.
I stopped auto renewal and As i went to renew at beginning of this month for new insurance I had an accident few days before renewal where someone drove in to back of me on a roundabout as I was still in queue.. This was before i had rung up to buy insurance...
So in my new quote on confused.com i declared I had 2 claims in last 5 years and when they asked on phone I made sure they knew it was 2. They asked whether they were closed which i said one is and latest one isn't.
10 days or so later while my cars in for repairs.. i get an email saying ive had policy cancelled. They say my claims didn't match up as they were both open and they wouldn't have allowed me to insure with them of they knew they were both open.
I made a mistake in believing that due to getting my excess back and then having my no claims reinstated from first claim that It had settled. And now at 19 years old My only quote is for £7000.
Is there a way to get it reinstated before it runs out on 16th, or somehow get a reasonable quote because at the moment with all this going on weeks after accident, as i was finally starting to get over the accident and now this. Im feeling honestly suicidal.

Hi,
I know noone really replied but for anyone reading, the case seems to be closed.
I phoned and discussed this apparent mistake and the person on the phone said they were going to listen to initial phone call again to make sure I declared both claims correctly when buying insurance.
They then replied next day via email and possibly a call that I missed that they listened to the call back and have now told me to ignore the cancellation as it was their mistake and no error of mine.
Also a cheque with a little something just for convinience.
I'm just glad that this seems to be sorted. And I suppose the cheque makes up for what felt like a depressive state for a few days which isn't what you want before christmas.
Thank you and sorry if this thread doesn't help people who may be in similar situation with cancellation.
As to the depressive feeling I had, i guess you just have to keep in mind that there seems to be a rainbow at the end of every storm and the bigger the storm, the brighter the rainbow.

Which insurance company? You should name and praise the company; anyone can make a mistake and it sounds like the way they handled it was first-rate and deserves recognition.Every generation blames the one before...
