I am so annoyed at Debenhams. I placed an order on Sunday after placing the confirmation said delivery by 14 December on one item and 22 December for the rest.
As this was leaving it a little late I managed to get into the store and found the same items. Then the fun started trying to cancel my order. Told by one person on the phone I could only cancel within 30 minutes of placing order (takes longer to get through on the phone than that) but if I rang back on 14 th as they would be on the 'correct screen' or not if I got an email stating when they would be delivered I could then cancel.
Received email today, rang them up and after waiting 35 minutes I managed to speak to somebody, now I couldn't cancel as the items have been processed. After much ranting by me it turns out you can only cancel within the first 30 minutes
Totally ridiculous.
Sorry for the rant. Don't expect any replies just needed to rant

When the items turn up just return them to Debenhams,i am sure they have a non cost retuns policy.
  • Cancelling and them stopping the dispatch are two different things.

You have 14 days from delivery to cancel. However, if they can't stop the dispatch you can either refuse delivery or return the item.

I know it's just the inconvenience as I work in retail and at this time of year as you can imagine is finding the time to get back into the city to return them xx

I agree it's inconvenient, but if you work in retail, you might also realise it's nigh on impossible to stop an order which is already in the system.

We are small fry and can't stop an order, but we do post out a prepaid returns label and refund on receipt (or proof of posting back to us).
  • You simply return it to a store for a refund

You work in retail and have the cheek to call someone a phone jockey?
