What legal obligation is there for the DVLA to pass on (or sell at a profit) driver details to a private parking scheme operator? Legal implies law which will be covered by an appropriate Act.
What Act stipulates private parking scheme operators have a legal right to information?

The DVLA has the legal power, under Regulation 27 of the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 2002 to: "make any particulars contained in the register available for use by any person who can show to the satisfaction of the Secretary of State that he has reasonable cause for wanting the particulars to be made available to him".

That 'reasonable cause' might be to ask the registered keeper for the name of the driver at the time of the incident.

Why would anyone post here on this old thread to ask where something is, that's linked? Go and use the template in the NEWBIES thread and please no more threads or posts about 'first appeal stage' v Smart Parking.

If on phone, you need a laptop or PC to access this site properly. Get thee to the Newbies' thread! It's near the top of the list of threads. If you can't find the template while on a computer then give up, there's no hope!
