Tesco bank account - switch bonus?

I'm thinking of opening a Tesco current a/c to earn 3% on £3,000. Have they ever offered a switch bonus? I do like to earn a switch bonus so I'm trying to decide if it's worth waiting for the next one :rotfl:

I don't think they've ever offered one, so don't hold your breath;).
  • They have never offered a switch bonus. They pay 3% on £3000 and had a rush of applicants for their current account earlier in 2017, so much so that they had to close it to new applicants for a while and then introduced stricter terms for new accounts (minimum monthly deposit plus 2 DDs per month). Unlikely that they will ever offer a switching bonus while their current account offering remains so far ahead of the field.

They did offer a few thousand Tesco Clubcard points once briefly but as stated above I wouldn't hold your breath for that coming back.

I received 2500 points* about a year ago for switching an account to Tesco. This was offered after the Tesco account had been open for a few weeks.

*Fairly sure that was the amount.
  • Actually the requirement is for 3 DDs per month.

I think I had a whole 1k of Tesco points for completing a questionnaire (from Tesco bank) sometime- maybe last year.
Have never seen a switch deal.....

As another poster said, Tesco's only switching incentive has been some Clubcard points. It was an individual offer, not one that was open to everyone.

I was offered one towards the back end of 2015 after opening an Internet Saver. At 1.2% for a year it may be worth opening one and seeing if anything comes your way.

Surely that would be a Standing Order, not a DD?
