3G mobile data card

Hi there.
I'm thinking of getting a t-mobile or vodafone 3g card for a laptop but am quite worried about whether I receive signal and reception.
Am I right in thinking that if I buy it and don't like it, anytime within 14 days I can return it and get my money back except for the data I've used?
Thanks

You can use the Coverage Maps on the Vodafone website to see what the signal is like in your area.0
