I have found that current value for a fund priced in USD is given in UDS (which I could work out knowing the number of units and the unit price) the old II site gave an estimated £ value based on their currency rate. Even though the overall choice is for pricing in GBP. Haven't found out how to change it yet.0

Hi All,
I can't say I am fan of the new platform but I guess I will get used to it. I am hoping the history will come across soon as I am at a loss with out.
Apparently one of my regular investments was cancelled (according to the email I received) along with some dividend re investments. The email unhelpfully doesn't say which ones!
I have sent them a message but are some funds no longer supported for regular investment? Also, how is the dividend reinvestment working now? I read in an earlier post that they no longer support automatic reinvestment but it is still stated in their table of fees. When I click the option in the new platform, only one my funds is eligible!
I was looking forward to a new platform but didn't realise they were pulling essential features. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank0 -
This is the (ambiguous) message that they have just sent out :-
Changes to our dividend reinvestment service
We’re proud of the additional features you’ll benefit from on the new platform and the improvements we’ve made to your services. However, on the new platform, one or more of the investments you previously had set up for dividend reinvestment are no longer eligible for this service.
How does this affect you?
If you previously had dividend reinvestment set up on Funds or stocks listed on an international exchange, your dividend preference on these investments no longer applies and instead you’ll receive your dividends as cash in your account. To review which of your stocks are set for dividend reinvestment simply log-in and select ‘dividend reinvestment’ from your ‘portfolio’ menu.
It is ambiguous in that you can either read it as :-
Funds or stocks listed on an international exchange, or
Funds, or stocks listed on an international exchange,
As I mentioned in my original post they have told me that none of my investments are eligible because they are funds. Therefore I believe that the second interpretation is valid.0 -
There's even more ambiguity than that, I'm not aware of funds, as in OEICS, being held on any exchange, international or otherwise?'We don't need to be smarter than the rest; we need to be more disciplined than the rest.' - WB0

is there anyway to set it so it shows day change as a percent and pounds like old version?0
-
I get the display of day change as a numeric amount ([STRIKE]£.ppp[/STRIKE] p.ppp) and a percentage n.nn%.
So you would rather have pounds rather than pence? It would require a lot of decimal places, wouldnt it?
[STRIKE]What, exactly, do you think it should it do?
[/STRIKE]
Are you given the option of seeing the TD "old" layout rather than the TD "new" layout the TD implemented earlier this year? I get a banner across the top of the screen offering this but I was a TD customer originally.0 -

For instance, if I had 70k and it went up by 1 percent, it used to say
+1.00 and then £700
but now it doesnt, just shows the day change in percent then percent of share price0 -
Are these funds or shares?
My holdings are shares (ITs) and they show as Quantity, Price, Change, ..... The change is as a cash amount (in pence) and a percentage.
For funds it "might" be different?0 -

One way you can do this is to use your Research Account.
Go to http://www.iii.co.uk/ and choose Login to research account. This will open to your research portfolio. I believe this will be a copy of your real portfolio if you have not previously created a research portfolio before (but I am not sure about this). The prices on this portfolio listing contain the information, in the format that you want, under the Change field e.g. +2.63 ( +1.07%).
Any changes to this portfolio are not reflected in your real portfolio.
You can also create addition portfolios in this Research section for you to try out various strategies, or watchlists. (These are just portfolios, but without adding any quantity details.)
Another little advantage with these Research portfolios is that you can add London Indices and some NYSE Indices. This will allow you to compare the portfolio with the corresponding index, or indices on th same page. (This is not available in the 'new improved' system.)
I should point out that it is not obvious how to create additional Research portfolios. The trick is to click on the Edit button on any of the items in an original Research portfolio. This opens an Edit page which has the option Add to new portfolio. Click on this option and enter the name of the new portfolio that you want to create in the field below it. Then click on the Update portfolio button. This will create the new portfolio with the one item in it. You can then add the items you want to that portfolio, and delete the initial 'seed' item if you do not need it in there.0 -
but now it doesnt, just shows the day change in percent then percent of share price
Do you actually mean that they show the change as a monetary amount per share and a percentage or the share price and you want it to show the value of the daily change?
I see no way to do that unless you export it to a spreadsheet which is probably over the top - maybe get the calculator out!0
