e Bay hacked?

Tried to log into my e Bay account, inputted correct info but kept asking me to reset the info?
When I asked for e mail confirmation it said it has sent me an e mail to an address ending in .ru! (Russia?)
Obviously I know this can't be correct so tried to phone them, the web site said it was unable to receive calls or texts at this particular time?
My main concern apart from possibly (probably) being hacked is that I have an excellent, long established account with 100% feedback which I don't want to lose. I use Avast and a paid for VPN.
Any advice appreciated.

More likely you were being redirected to a fake ebay site.
Hope you changed your password and email address you used to register it to.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Expect attempts on your paypal account also if you use the same email address.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Why are you using a VPN for ebay?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

OP, have you thought about posting your query on the ebay board?0

Op have you tried the 'text a temporary password' on the login page? Assuming you have a mobile attached to your account. Failing that you need to ring them and explain you think your account has been accessed. As has been said, if your Paypal uses the same login, you should change that, along with your email login details. The techies on this board should be able to help you with any PC cleaning you need to do.0

You were interacting with a fake ebay page which you have now given your correct ebay credentials to.
I suggest changing them post haste.
All the messages about not accepting calls etc are there to keep you away from your account longer so they have more time to do dodgy stuff with it
Never visit sites directly from links in email, and scan for malware to ensure you are not being hoodwinked in the future.
