Ebico/Robin Hood Energy question

I beg to differ. My records show that from late 2013 to early 2017 whilst every other supplier was cutting their prices Ebico's prices were virtually static. During that period they were tied to SSE not RHE. It was SSE who insisted on Ebico linking its prices to SSE's and then SSE who cut lots of tarif's whilst leaving Ebico tied to its expensive SVR for 4 years. Only when Ebico switched to RHE did prices drop.
I beg to differ too:
During the period you mention Ebico was one of the cheapest on the market especially for low energy users for whom it was recommended. And that as you say was in partnership with SSE. The price drop you mention was obviously a ploy to get people to leave SSE and move to RHE. And where is Ebico now as I write this? They are priced out of the market and no longer in the top 20 on MSE CEC for my region, Eastern. As for your prediction of a price rise. Ebico stated no price rises until Dec 17. They eventually put prices up by a modest amount in Feb 18. This not only meets but exceeds their price promise. What is there to moan about unless you just want a moan. The 1% DD discount is offered by RHE billing as an incentive to pay by DD. For low users who are typical Ebico customers like myself it is worth less than 10p a week. This is a complete non issue.
Let's tell it like it is: Ebico replaced a single tariff regardless of the method of payment with differential tariffs the cheapest being where the method of payment is DD. That could only affect those customers who were energy poor due to their financial position which Ebico even now say they support. Some support eh!
My prediction was based on several Ebico customers pointing out that the end of December when the current price promise expired had passed. In view of Ebico pricing themselves out of the market what was expected was that Ebico would at least maintain their current prices. In the face of that expectation they increased prices which priced them out of the market even more which was rather silly. The warm home discount is a fair point to raise and Ebico haven't really said much about this so its hard to comment.
What I can say is that the WHD changes the dynamic of every tarif it gets applied to and if a low user with low bills can get a fixed sum discount, any significant number of customers claiming it can kill a small company like Ebico. Having principles that kill your company is not a long term strategy for business survival. This change was unfortunate for those effected but that is the way it is.
Again let's tell it like it is: Ebico wanted to transfer all its better off customers to RHE and expected SSE to fork out £140 per customer for WHD customers. That's what I call trying it on. It's to SSE's credit that they did initially do that and fork out for WHD customers but a price increase was inevitable because SSE wasn't getting any of the cream: RHE was getting that cream. What you have done is juxtapose SSE's problems over Ebico.
Lastly you miss out the top position Ebico occupied in Customer service which was built up during their partnership with SSE. Now I see mounting complaints being posted about Ebico's bad customer service now they are in partnership with RHE.
By all means defend a company which you yourself find gives good service. But you shouldn't be writing fairy stories. Leave the fairy stories to Ebico. They are good at it!0
